Martin Lefebvre is University Research Chair in Film Studies and Director of the Doctoral Program in Film and Moving Image Studies at Concordia University (Montreal). He is Editor of Recherches sémiotiques/Semiotic Inquiry (RS/SI) and heads ARTHEMIS -- the Advanced Research Team on the History and Epistemology of Moving Image Studies. His research interests include semiotics, pragmatism, C. S. Peirce, L. Wittgenstein, epistemology, aesthetics, Hitchcock, Eisenstein, Godard, Antonioni, Renoir, classical and contemporary film theory.
